Andrew R. Park
For more than 20 years, Andrew has devoted his career to litigation and alternative forms of dispute resolution, including arbitration and mediation. Andrew offers his services nationwide as a mediator, with a focus on assisting parties to resolve all types of financial services disputes.
Andrew builds his mediation and law practice on his many years working as in-house arbitration attorney for one of the country’s largest wealth management firms, his work as a litigation/arbitration attorney in private practice, and his two-year judicial clerkship for a federal district court (trial court) judge.
Andrew’s practice focuses particularly on investment related, employment related and regulatory matters in wealth management (including brokerage firms and registered investment advisors). Most of these disputes proceed in FINRA arbitration, and Andrew is a seasoned, effective and committed advocate. Through his work on more than 400 arbitrations since 2000, Andrew has developed a thorough understanding of this field of practice and is well-connected with other practitioners, mediators, and expert witnesses in the field. Andrew also serves as a FINRA arbitrator.
Andrew has diligently and successfully defended arbitration claims on a national basis. He understands the securities industry and its recurring themes. On a selective basis, Andrew represents entities and individuals pursuing claims for securities fraud and other sales practice violations. Through arbitration hearings (where necessary) and through negotiated settlements, he has worked closely with those clients to recover significant sums, including amounts in the six and seven figures.
Andrew’s practice includes complex litigation and intellectual property disputes. In addition to his arbitration/regulatory and business practice, Andrew represents clients in serious personal injury cases and estate planning.
A native of Lexington, Kentucky, Andrew graduated magna cum laude, Order of the Coif from the University of Kentucky College of Law (1995). He was Executive Editor of the Journal of Natural Resources and Environmental Law. He earned his undergraduate degree from Duke University (1991).
Andrew completed the National Trial Advocacy College at the University of Virginia School of Law. As adjunct faculty of the T.C. Williams School of Law, he taught law skills to first year law students. As adjunct faculty at Virginia Commonwealth University, he taught insurance law to undergraduates. Andrew is a member of the Securities Industry and Financial Markets Association (since 2000) and the John Marshall American Inn of Court.
